The Babytales

The Babytales is a 3D isometric hack and slash game. The game is based on shared elements of different fairytales from Japanese, Finnish and Singaporean folklore. The game takes its main inspiration from the Japanese tale of Momotaro or the peach boy.

This is an international project I worked on as a producer during my student exchange in Japan. We had a multi-national team of two Finnish students, three Japanese students and two Singaporean students. The project management tool that I used was Jira, where I created and managed sprints and tasks. I also had a separate schedule created in Excel. One of the biggest challenges during this project was managing a team where, at times, the language barrier got in the way. Luckily communication was not an issue when using the right tools and translators.

The project was a success even though I had to axe a lot of content, including a nearly finished boss fight.
